Overall does exactly what you want

These ear defenders are very good at cutting out the loud background noise and fit snugly. They fold very small so we can put them in little ones backpack.

My only grumble is that they are a very tight fit and ping together quite quickly as you take them off which can be quite nasty for little fingers. That said, I tried them on myself and they do not actually feel very tight when on.
