A really good looking high chair, which does it's job brilliantly. My son is very small for his age and we have had countless problems with different high chairs in restaurants....he can't reach the tray, he falls over to one side, the harness just don't go tight enough etc etc. With the Svan, it is so adjustable and snug fitting he doesn't even need a harness! He looks extremely comfy and is happy sitting in the chair for quite some time - it gives him a great sitting posture too. I really recommend this chair, despite the rather steep pricetag, it's worth the extra!
An excellent high chair

The high chair itself is an excellent product, sturdy and well designed. The plastic tray cover is a handy addition, it is wiped clean after breakfast and lunch, then washed with dishes following the evening meal. It would be better if the tray cover fully covered the sides of the tray, then I wouldn't need to clean the wooden tray also.
I had read that the chair was difficult to clean given all the nooks and crannies with it's fully adjustable design, however, I haven't found this a problem...and since I'm following baby lead weaning my baby makes an enormous mess!
My only criticism is that the cushions are made from a textured fabric that would collect food particles if I hadn't sewn vinyl covers for the seat cushions that wipe clean.

Quality chair

This chair is very well-made and well-designed, and we're very happy with it. That said, I wish it were a bit taller. I also wish the baby seat were a bit wider, since our little guy is quite fat (5 months, 10kg!) and he just fits into the seat, but I worry if he gains more weight his thighs won't fit!
Svan High Chair

I was looking for a wooden, solid high chair and came across the Svan. I ended up purchasing from That Cute age. I was surprised how quickly it arrived, so very happy with their service. I much prefer the way the Svan looks in real life rather than in pictures. Blends in with our furniture, very solid and well designed. Glad we can continue to make use of it as baby grows. I would definitely say that the plastic tray is an essential!

We bought this high chair for our 6 month old. We are doing baby led weaning and it is fantastic as he sits up straight, right up at the table with us. It's also very compact and stylish and doesn't look out of place with our existing furniture. It seems very solid and good quality. I can't rate it highly enough!

Suprisingly compact and discrete and far less garish than some of the other models on the market. Easy to assemble, feels really sturdy and I'm sure will work well in our kitchen for years to come!

Compact, blends in, baby loves it, job done!

This chair comes flat packed, and you have to spend a good 10-15 mins putting it together, but the instructions in the booklet were easy to follow. (There was also a DVD that I didn't use).
It is smaller than you think it is going to be, but that actually made me like it more once I got used to it, as the baby can sit at your height but can get closer to you and the table.
The baby absolutely loved it (he's 5 months). He could look around and could sit up and support himself on the chair, whereas a lot of highchairs have a "car seat" feel once they are strapped in.
We didn't use the harness, although we have bought one for when he gets a bit bigger and works out how to co-ordinate an escape attempt. But as long as I was along side him I felt the chair was perfectly safe as it enclosed him so well once the table was adjusted to suit him. I would agree with other reviews that I read that the downside was the price, as it was expensive compared to most others. But the advantage of being able to change the size as the baby grows and that fact it blends in with existing furniture sold it for me. Only problem is I'll have to splash out on another one if he ever gets a brother or sister!

I love the chair in that it supports my daughter well, maintaining good posture, better than her other more common sort of highchair did. She cried every time I went to put her in and was able to slouch, but not with the Svan.
I do think the plastic try and harness should be included in the price.
