Neuro-linguistics research (the study of how we learn language) has shown that the two different sides of the brain are responsible for different ways of thinking. Great for starting to learn colours

Our 21 month old loves these cards. On one side they have pictures of items where you have to match 2 things the same colour - blue socks and blue balloon. On the other side you have the colour and the name of the colour. After a few weeks of using the picture side our toddler is now really into matching the coloured backs. He has started naming the colours on the cards too. We took them on holiday as well as they are easy to carry around.
